Lappeenranta and Imatra region - heart of the Finnish Lakeland

Lappeenranta and Imatra region is located in the Province of Southern Finland, South Karelia, near the Russian border.

In summetime everyone in the Saimaa region takes to the waters to admire the stunning lake scenery and journey all the way to Vyborg and St. Petersburg in Russia. The greens of Saimaa’s several golf courses invite you to play in this most beautiful part of Finland. A summer night in Finland is enchanting, since the sun never seems to set. In the Lappeenranta and Imatra region, the dusk only lasts for a couple of hours in midsummer.

Visiting Russia

From Southern Carelia there are good connections to Vyborg and St. Petersburg in Russia. You can go by bus or train, on a cruise (during summer) or on a guided tour. With newly introduced e-visa travelling to Russia is very easy.
