Lappeenranta and Imatra region - heart of the Finnish Lakeland

In the Lappeenranta and Imatra region, the dusk only lasts for a couple of hours in midsummer.

Visiting Russia
From Southern Carelia there are good connections to Vyborg and St. Petersburg in Russia. You can go by bus or train, on a cruise (during summer) or on a guided tour. With newly introduced e-visa travelling to Russia is very easy.
